Cannes 2025: the films of the Official Selection

During the official press conference held on April 10, 2025, Iris Knobloch, President of the Festival de Cannes, and Thierry Frémaux, the Festival’s General Delegate, unveiled the Official Selection for its 78th edition.

The announcement marked a key moment in the lead-up to the festival, offering the first comprehensive look at the films that will define this year’s program. Speaking to an international audience of journalists and industry professionals, Knobloch and Frémaux outlined the artistic direction of the selection, highlighting a diverse range of works from both established filmmakers and emerging voices.

The presentation not only revealed the titles competing for the Palme d’Or, but also those featured in sections such as Un Certain Regard, special screenings, and out-of-competition events. As always, the selection reflects Cannes’ commitment to showcasing global cinema in all its forms, setting the stage for the stories, talents, and cinematic trends that will shape the 2025 edition of the festival.
