The Eurimages Co-production Development Award, endowed with 20,000 euros, went to afterschool production from Lithuania for their project Liberations (director: Laurynas Bareiša; producer: Klementina Remeikaite). With this award, the European film fund Eurimages supports the development of the project. This year’s jury members were funding representative Pablo Pérez de Lema (ICAA, Spain), world sales representative Ioanna Stais (Heretic, Greece), and producer Jonas Dornbach (Komplizen Film, Germany).
The Gen Z Audience Award, presented for the second time and endowed with 5,000 euros, goes to the project Cura Sana (director: Lucía G. Romero) by producers Laura Fernández Brites and Sendy Palomino Vivar (Filmax, Spain). The jury was made up of five film students from German and French film universities: Daniel Beschareti, Isidora Lazić, Nicolas Chapt, Pauline Szczesny, and Sophia Beatrice. Sponsored by the Franco-German Youth Office (FGYO), the prize is awarded to a feature film project that particularly appeals to young cinema‑goers aged between 20 and 29. The prize highlights emerging cinematic voices and integrates the feedback of the next generation directly into the creative development process.
The VFF Talent Highlight Award, endowed with 10,000 euros by the VFF – Verwertungsgesellschaft der Film- und Fernsehproduzenten, supports a promising new project from the Talent Project Market, the longstanding cooperation between Berlinale Talents and Berlinale Co-Production Market. This year, the winning project was The Most Romantic Man in the World (director: Simon Jaquemet), which was pitched by Olga Lamontanara (8horses, Switzerland). Nomination prizes of 1,000 euros went to Yulia Evina Bhara (KawanKawan Media) from Indonesia and Gary Cranner (Mantra Film) from Norway.
The ARTEKino International Award 2026 goes to Lotus Feet by Amanda Nell Eu, produced by Ghost Grrrl Pictures from Malaysia. ARTE awards this prize, which is endowed with 6,000 euros, to an artistically outstanding project from the Berlinale Co-Production Market.
At the 23rd Berlinale Co‑Production Market, the producers of 34 feature film projects have met with potential co‑producers and financiers. More than 1,500 individual meetings with potentially suitable partners for the more than 600 participants were planned and coordinated in advance.
Ten books for adaptation and ten new series projects have also been selected. They are the focus of the Books at Berlinale and Co-Pro Series pitch events.
Since 2004, more than 400 films and 25 series that were looking for partners at the Berlinale Co-Production Market have now been completed. Six films that were presented at the Berlinale Co-Production Market in previous years are screening at this year’s Berlinale: No Good Men by Shahrbanoo Sadat opened the festival; Gelbe Briefe (Yellow Letters) by İlker Çatak and Wo Men Bu Shi Mo Sheng Ren (We Are All Strangers) by Anthony Chen in Berlinale Competition.
