MipCom 2022: NBC Universal "That’s My Jam" dominates international markets.

NBCUniversal Formats’ hit entertainment show That’s My Jam is heading to Italy, Spain, Portugal and Mongolia following recent success

in the US and France.

The music and comedy variety game show is originally produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio (UTAS), a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Jimmy Fallon’s production company, Electric Hot Dog for NBC. Hosted by Fallon, season one reached more than 250 million views across linear, digital and social platforms and a second season is currently in production in LA. Filming also recently wrapped on the UK version hosted by Mo Gilligan for the BBC, which is being produced by Universal International Studios’ Monkey, in partnership with UTAS.

Drawing inspiration from the wildly popular musical segments on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, That’s My Jam features a host of celebrity guests, fun dance and trivia-based games, as well as unforgettable musical performances. The format promises to take popular and beloved songs to the next level like never before.

An Italian version of the format will be produced by Endemol Shine Italy for leading free-to-air channel Rai 2. Renowned presenter Stefano De Martino (Anything Goes) is set to host the series.

Spanish actor, comedian and presenter Arturo Valls (The Masked Singer) is confirmed to front a local version of the format. Valls’ production company Polvora will co-produce the Spanish series with LACOproductora, in partnership with UTAS.

Shine Iberia has optioned the format to produce a local version in Portugal.

Central TV has also signed a deal with NBCUniversal Formats to produce and broadcast a Mongolian version, which will be fronted by Mr Ankhbayar Ganbold (The Voice Mongolia). The 10-part series will launch next year.

The format has also been in adapted in France, with great success on TF1. Entitled Stéréo Club, two specials aired over the summer fronted by Camille Combal (Dancing with the Stars).

Ana Langenberg, SVP Format Sales & Production, NBCUniversal Formats commented: “That’s My Jam continues to prove itself as one of our most formidable formats, with the ability to entertain, surprise and connect with audiences all over the world. It’s the ultimate host vehicle that delivers undeniable energy for both audiences and talent alike. So, we are thrilled to have the opportunity, together with our brilliant local partners, to build on the show’s success and bring even more That’s My Jam to viewers across Italy, Spain, Portugal and Mongolia.”
