The ninth edition of the Canneseries 2026 took place from 23 to 28 April along the Croisette in Cannes, reaffirming its role as a major international event dedicated entirely to television series. Launched in 2018, the festival has quickly become a key platform for showcasing global serial storytelling, bringing together creators, producers, and streaming platforms.

This year’s edition featured a diverse official selection, with series from around the world presented as premieres across the main competition, short-form section, and docuseries category. The program highlighted the growing diversity and creative ambition of contemporary TV production, while industry panels and special events offered opportunities for networking and discussion.

At the end of the festival, the jury announced the 2026 award winners, with the British dramedy Alice and Steve emerging as the standout title. The series received multiple prizes, including Best Series, along with awards recognizing its cast and its strong reception among younger audiences.

Among the honorary recognitions, Jisoo was presented with the Rising Star Award, highlighting her growing international presence. Richard Gadd received the Commitment Award for his impactful and socially engaged work, while Adam Scott was honored with the Icon Award for his contribution to television.

With each edition, Canneseries continues to expand its global reach and influence. By combining premieres, awards, and industry initiatives, the festival reflects the increasing importance of series in today’s audiovisual landscape.

The 2026 edition once again confirmed Canneseries as a central meeting point for the international TV community, spotlighting new talent and emerging trends while celebrating excellence in serial storytelling.
