Tom Cruise makes his much-anticipated return to Cannes attending the premiere alongside the film’s cast

Cannes 2025 Day 2 brought another glamorous wave of red carpet moments, highlighted by a warm and affectionate exchange between Tom Cruise and Hayley Atwell, while stars like Eva Longoria and Hofit Golan dazzled with their striking appearances. The second day of the Cannes Film Festival 2025 was filled with high-profile celebrities but much of the spotlight centered on Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, which had its world premiere on Wednesday, May 14.

The 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival continued to draw global attention. Big Hollywood names such as Heidi Klum, Tom Cruise, and Eva Longoria captured attention on the red carpet. Cruise’s latest installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise was met with great enthusiasm, earning a standing ovation from the audience. The opening day of the festival had already set a high bar, with appearances from Quentin Tarantino, Bella Hadid, Robert De Niro, and others. De Niro was honored with the prestigious Palme d’Or, presented to him by Leonardo DiCaprio. On the second day, Tom Cruise made his much-anticipated return to Cannes, attending the premiere alongside the film’s cast.

This marked Cruise’s first appearance at the festival in three years, fans were thrilled to see him back, making a stylish entrance and commanding attention once again.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning received a standing ovation lasting more than five minutes. During his speech, Cruise expressed his gratitude, saying the audience’s reaction is the reason they make films. He thanked attendees for their support and praised his cast, emphasizing their dedication. He noted that the movie was produced under challenging circumstances, including the pandemic and two major industry strikes, making the achievement even more meaningful.
